I am adding AC t a vehicle equipped with a Carter BBD and I need the idle stop solenoid that kicks out to bump the idle up a bit when the AC compressor turns on. Anybody have one they removed from a carb or have a core BBD they would sell me the solenoid from?

Thanks.

Did you find one yet? I have a carb with one on but I don't know what it is. I will post a picture and you can see if you are interested.

Thanks! I bought one from a board member, but it turns out it didn't work with the carb I have. Looking closer, I think I need to find a complete carb designed to work with an idle stop solenoid. The solenoid appears to kick on the top of the curb idle screw, so i can'r use a carb where the curb idle screw rests on the big screw on the side of the carb body. Pictures would be great!

Here is what I have. I have no idea of its condition or even where I got it from.

Quick search comes up with 7990A being a 78 V-8 Holley carb. ( At least that is what the E-bay add says!)

Rick- that is a 2280 with a rudimentary throttle positioning sensor. I am looking for a Carter BBD that has a solenoid on the other side where the idle speed screw is.

Mat- That is what I am looing for! Thanks! I will keep an eye on that auction.

That's even better! I am pretty sure I have the accelerator pump linkage ad float bowl cover on a spare carb. :D

More research, 1980 year and two wires, one for ac bump idle and one for hot curb idle ground switch for computer ,lean burn. So maybe full manifold vacuum to distributor or maybe not??

Thanks Mat! I actually bought the one you found that was complete. Fingers crossed the throttle shaft area isn't worn out.
