Post subject:  Windage Trays - Interest

As the Corona Virus has us all hunkered down, my friend Robbie who does my body work, has seen a big drop in the repair business because many people are not driving. Less driving, less wrecks. less work. Good for the people, but bad for body shops.
Anyway he has some time (and the skills) to do the windage trays that some of you have asked me about. So I am just trying to get an idea of how many of these that I would need to get made up before I buy materials. This is a copy of the Jeffrey trays that Mike has quit building. I have one that Robbie made for me in my race car right now and Greg Ondayko has the second one that he made. I had a unused one of Mikes that I gave to Robbie when he made the first one so he could see exactly how they were made.

So my only hold back is the bolts, and I am going to try and get hold of the local machine shop here this week to see if they are willing to do a run of the bolts for me.

Right now I just need an idea of who may be interested in one or more. The last ones I got from Mike I believe were $140 plus shipping and that was a good while ago. So let's say they cost $150 give or take a little and tell me if you are interested in one. That will include the tray, machined main bolts and tray mounting hardware. You pay the shipping also.

This will happen fairly quickly if I do them. Probably in less than a month they will be done. That is of course depending on the Machine shops schedule. Robbie would probably do 10 -15 of these in a day once I got him the materials.

Let me know.

Yes I am not holding anyone to anything right now. Just getting the interest level. Thanks Wayne

Any line on a crank scraper?

Thanks

Rick, can you post a picture of the tray? I don't know if I have seen one.

Put me down for one Rick.

Pretty sure DadTruck ended up with Mike's patterns for the scrapers.

Mikes up top, mine on the bottom. Slots not cut out yet, but you get the idea.

Take to your local plasma cutter..

Or take it to you local graphics shop and have them make one out of heavy sheet stock... transfer to metal and cut / grind it out yourself.

I have a pattern of my scraper too, but no way to easily cut some out. Someone ought to be able to lay them out and zip them out on a table.

Cool, thanks guys! I might give this a shot, or, more realistically, save up some money and find a local fabricator to make one up for me.

Just hang in there for a couple days reed. There may be some news on the scrapers too.
