I am new to this great sight and appreciate all the slant six wisdom. Was wondering if any one has bought/used one of these? Just looking for feedback/info. Seems to be a steep price but saves some hassles. Thanks.

I would find a good local machinist to work with or send your head to Mike Jeffries. You can get an equal job done cheaper or better work done for the same money. In other words, I don't feel the Clifford head is a good value. I worked with a good local machinist and did my own porting work. I had the head milled .100" (62cc to 50cc chambers), the valve guides shortened .100" to clear the retainers with increased valve lift, guides cut for positive valve stem seals, valve bowls and seats cut for oversize valves and a partial valve job for about $300. The partial valve job is because I supplied new oversize valves so no valve grinding was require only seat work. The parts bill was less than $300 and included Comp Cams springs, retainers and the oversize stainless valves.

Clifford has a long track record of being long (high) on price and very short (bad) on customer service and of failing to promptly deliver what you order. I can't see the wisdom in paying Clifford that amount of money for eventual delivery of a head that's had fairly routine prep work done on it; for that money, you could have one heck of a good head built locally, as it seems to me.

Seeing you are in the SF Bay Area, send me a PM and we can discuss the local costs of doing a ported and rebuilt SL6 head.
As already noted, you can get more done for less then what Clifford is charging.

IIRC, Mike Jeffrey had a Clifford head and one of the old Mopar Performance heads that he tested on his flow bench. Neither one was anything to write home about, especially for the money they charged.
