Can the just the axleshafts be swapped between A-body Mopar 7 1/4" rear ends somewhat easily, or would it be easier to swap the entire rear axle?

I have a '67 Valiant with the SBP 7 1/4 and was looking at options of swapping to the larger bolt pattern on the rear.

I found a '74 Dart 7 1/4" rear somewhat locally with the big bolt pattern, but I'm not sure if they interchange.

To go from small bolt pattern to large you have to swap the whole axle assembly. The shafts do not interchange. We discussed this recently. http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=287053

Josh is right,The Mopar performance book that says this can be done is wrong.
