Spotted at the Portland Roadster Show last weekend.

Image

The signage said a narrowed Devin body, 180 cu. in., 149 mph record holder.
Original 3 speed manual transmission.
Nothing about the rear end gears but they must be TALL.

The 170 will spin fast. I was gearing my LSR Barracuda for 150 mph at 8000 RPM. That requires 3.73s with a 205/65R15 tire.

Yep, very cool. Maybe we can beat 150 this year with Bob Dally's 170 Bonneville tank (66 Barracuda)?? 140s is more likely...

Yep, that Devin is definitely a LOT more slippery than my 'cuda (same one Josh started). Not to mention less frontal area as well.

What intake is that in the photo? Almost looks like a stock piece. And what carb?

Glad to see they got the resto done on this car so soon. It was in pretty rough shape when the started out.

Carb looks like an Edelbrock Performer/Carter AFB, but it may be a Carter WCFB. That does look like a stock intake manifold, though. I think I see an adapter under the carb so it may even be a Super Six intake. Not a good choice for high RPMs with a four barrel.

Looks like an Offy intake to me. Not sure on carb. Either an oldy, or maybe some kind of Demon/aftermarket. Can't wait to taste the salt again and help Bob set records this summer!
