Good to see interest in the SL6.

Kinda what I was thinking, especially for what it is.

Is it just me or is the wording in that ad odd? "Sweet 71 Duster induction system" ?

I looked up the header used; Hooker Headers 5602 Super Comp Headers 198-255 6-Cylinder $531.95 at Jegs won't fit power steering equipped A Body. Looks as if data input babe transposed a 2 in 225 into a 5... These are 40" long & tuned.

my favorite part was the disclaimer about the paint on the headers...this is not high temp paint, it'll burn off immediately, make sure to coat them appropriately...or something to that effect.

b

Still, it isn't a bad benchmark for how to build a 200 HP slant six (or there abouts).
I don't recall, but did they do any head porting /bigger valves on that build?

I didn't see any mention of head work, compression ratio or camshaft specs.

I dont think the kit includes any motor parts! HEader, intake and carb with just a higher voltage ignition: No cam or port work? Cmon....they probably dont mention it because it would be too easy to replicate.

that's the sad part, when I first saw it, I thought it was a crate engine, but it's just parts to slap on, so the price is ridiculous. Better to spend that money on head work, cam, etc. and pull together the peripherals another way.

Ahhhh, media marketing(marketeering?) at it's finest! No, the head was
bone stock and just got a "perf." valve job, which for what they did got
decent(approx. 100% improvement) results. As far as price, well, none of
that stuff is cheap. You'd expect more of a bargain in a pkg. deal from them
than that.......................

So what is the recipe for 100% better airflow on a slant head?
