Just a small update. Peg and I came through the storm in great shape. Lots of trees down in the area, but nothing but branches, on my place(s). Absolutly no damage to our property, and no injuries. No power, and expect it will be out for more then a week. Running on a generator, but gas is in short supply. If a station should have gas, it probably doesn't have power to pump it. Hopefully supplies will improve in the next couple of days, as tankers come in, and power starts coming back on.

Good to hear that you are doing good.

If your home has natural gas, there are quite a few videos on you tube that show how to run a generator on natural gas or propane.

No natural gas any where close. My neighbor has a propane standby generator, but they limited the amount he could buy, just before the storm. Hardware store 2 miles away fills propane bottles, but doesn't have power to run their pump.
Any videos show how to run the generator on wood? We have plenty of that Rolling Eyes

I'm glad you're well Charlie.

Here's your wood gassifier fueled generator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6e3CprVTi8

Glad you're safe! Interesting that we discussed running a vehicle on propane just before the hurricane hit. I guess that blows holes in my plan. Hope everything dries out and gets back to normal soon.

Also glad you didn't have much property damage.

Found gas, in town this morning. Got 20 gals in jugs for the generator, and topped up the Ranger. Will be spending the day cleaning up limbs and brush.

Hooray!!!!! Power came back on about 1 hour ago. Electric Co did a great job. Didn't expect power for several days, yet.
A lot of people still don't have power, hope they get it soon.
