Let's get this party started!

We're just a week away from the 2018 Kick Off race at MoKan Dragway hosted by Team Green.

That will be followed up 27-29 April with the first Killer Bees race at Las Vegas.

There are still some races not yet confirmed, so I won't post the complete list here.

I'll throw out a couple predictions for the year...

We will have the biggest turnout in our 20 year history at Clay City this year... Duh!

We will see at least 3 and more likely 5 of our racers return to either race or just hang out. I'm talking about folks that haven't raced with us for many years... Jim Cox, Ron Parker, Charles Myers, Barry Harrison, Joel Harris... Maybe even Howard Davis if I can twist his arm hard enough...

What else... Oh yeah! Records! Lots and lots of records will be set this year... One of 'em might even be me!

We're also gonna have more Rookies this year than ever before!

Does it sound like Rob is wearing his rose colored glasses yet again...? Probably, but this time the rose colored sun is shinin'!

Let the fun begin! :D

There were 2 cars at Vegas, but no one knows who it was... :?

Redding hopefully happened this past weekend.

Mo-Kan was re-scheduled to this past weekend and had a record turn out of 9 cars!

Mason-Dixon is this coming weekend...

I have the results for Mo-Kan and will get things rolling shortly.

Two of my predictions are already heading in the right direction.

Joel Harris showed up at Mo-Kan with his '69 Valiant running high 15's. He is interested in getting another race started in the St. Louis area. It would be great to have another race option for folks in that part of the country. Joel also plans to attend the big Racer's Reunion at Clay City in September.

Steve Nitti's supercharged Duster driven by Denny Baierl ran very consistent 10.91-11.17 all weekend at Mo-Kan. Steve asked me about submitting for a D/U record. He plans to take Seymour to lunch to deliver the goods. We all worked hard on Steve to get him to come to Clay City, which is a 12+ hour drive for them. Denny has another big event that weekend as well, so we will see...

It's looking like a great year for Slant 6 Drag Racing! Come out and "Run with the Slants!" :D

I still don't know who the 2 racers were from Las Vegas and have not seen anything posted about Redding (You Killer Bees are Killin' me!), but I have the Mo-Kan results.

Here are the current points standings with Mo-Kan. Mason-Dixon is coming up this weekend! :D

Thanks for posting, Rob! Is Laney Heisten's middle name "Brent"? ;)

I've added the two racers from Las Vegas (Thanks Mike). Still no word on whether or not the Redding race happened. I've got seven PMs in my Outbox looking for some feedback.

With the Mason-Dixon rain out and no word about Redding, there is still some Poser from KY leading the points...

The two day event from Mason-Dixon looks like it will be made up in a combination with the Motormile, VA and Wilkesboro, NC races in June and July (one added at each event) rather than trying to re-schedule the race on another separate weekend. That gives folks THREE opportunities at the next two East Coast races for points.

Here are the updated points with both Las Vegas and Mo-Kan.

I've attached the image through the forum function AND using a link to my Image Shack account, just in case.

With 3 Slant 6 races in the books and Rob Simmons is still leading the points, should we consider a bounty for who knocks Rob out of first place?

Maybe Rob will put a bounty on himself?

Glen Ambacher was the only Killer Bee to show at the Redding race, so he ran in Sportsman and was Runner Up. Glen racked up enough attendance points in those two days to take the lead on the West Coast. C'mon Killer Bees! Get ta Stingin' out there!

The Motormile race in Fairlawn, VA is in two weeks where there will be three races. Two regularly scheduled and one of the Mason-Dixon rain outs.

Here are the updated points with Redding.

Another Monday and Rob Simmons is still at the top of the points.

When will the madness end?

I guesstimate that it will end either Friday or Saturday. Maybe sooner...

Or I could do my typical thing and not even look at the Duster between now and then (I'm still at work at 10:00 PM) and show up with a non-running car Friday...
(Here come Dennis and Cookie... Wait for it... )

It was an excellent weekend of racing at Motor Mile Dragway in Fairlawn, VA! We had 9 cars Friday night for the Mason-Dixon make up race, 10 cars Saturday and 9 cars Sunday. Some really great racing action with zero breakdowns, records being set and lots of bench racin'! :D

Ryan Covalt got Seymour's blue Valiant together again and was able to re-set the A/Gas ET record to 7.18. He made a pass that would also re-set the MPH record, but wasn't able to back it up. It was 91* in the shade with a corrected altitude somewhere around 4000 feet, so look for Ryan to really show us something later in the year with better weather.

Brian Mimken also got his "Sixy Beast" rear turbo '74 Duster together and was able to make some passes Sunday.

Lou Madsen took the seats out of his '68 turbo Dart to snag the open C/Unlimited 1/8th mile ET and MPH records.

I was a bit tuckered out by Sunday afternoon and forgot to get the points from Rick and Lou. Look for the updated points shortly.
(Spoiler Alert: That Poser from Kentucky won a round or two and is still in the lead... )

NO! Rob has officially had his poser card revoked! He is now and forever officially a real time racer. I will tell you about him and I racing yesterday!
