In reading SSD's article ( http://www.geocities.ws/MotorCity/2398/ ... index.html ) on getting the most out of 9" drum brakes, Dan outlines some specific parts but doesn't include part numbers. Dan is mashing new components with old in this article to make for a better package - it seems logical. This is the direction I must take at the moment - disks will have to wait...

I'm hoping someone can confirm the parts list below will (most likely) work with my application - I searched by applications noted in the article on RA. I'm pretty sure they are OK, just want to run it by the collective intelligence here. Thanks all!

'68 Barracuda, non-power drums, dual master cylinder, 14" steel wheels

All Raybestos parts... I'm replacing the front brakes.
> Adjuster Kits #H2526 and #H2527 (one each)
> Finned Brake Drum #2956R (two needed)
> Hardware Kit #H7170 (one kit?)
> Brake Shoes #330PG (order just one? Is there enough for both wheels here like the image suggests?)
> Wheel Cylinders #WC37269 and #WC37270 (one each)

I'm not familiar with replacing brakes, I'l be using the factory '68 manual - but tips are welcome!

BTW - that's an old article from SSD, if anyone knows of better options, I'm game.

Save your money and time for discs.

Add up all the money you will spend on the 9" drums.
Compare that top the $200 + freight I will ask for a complete 75 Valiant disc swap kit.

Listen to Sandy! You will spend almost as much, if not more to make adequate brakes. Switch to discs up front to have a Safe daily driver!

Another vote to just go straight to discs. Don’t waste your money on drums.
