How about we show off some of our slant race cars?
I'll go first, although this is an older pic, the car looks the same (except a little more dismantled).
No performance data yet, but it will look this way when it (finally) debuts at one of the Slant meets.

This thread is a fantastic idea. Great looking B-body. My first old hobby stock dirt car was a '65 Satellite. I hope to have a street/strip car to join in with next season.
Please keep this one going guys. More race car pics please.

The Belvedere is replacing this car, street driven, 65 Sport Fury convertible. It runs 12.35 (1/4) on street tires, through the mufflers. The Vert has a 440 in it, so it was pretty easy to make power. The slant will be more of a challenge.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about.
That white Duster looks like it's getting some air on the launch.

Here're a couple from Randy's Dragfest this year.
Far lane's my regular nemesis, in her really light 200" Ford. 8)

This next season I'll adjust the torsion bars to even things up better. That will make the left front wheel stay planted... :(

It's a great idea having this thread featuring all the slant powered race cars. I'm really enjoying it. Very inspirational.
Thank you all!

In my mind it's done. But the truth is this has been at least a 35 year dream of mine. Orange one got stolen, but the silver one waits patiently for her time on the concrete. 71 Dodge Colt.

Oooo, Hyper_pak! There's so many ways a guy could build that.
Not to be blasphemous, but have you ever seen the Youtube vids of the white zombie?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apoeGMWF17c

There's also some vids of a 2.5 turbo minivan whipping up on a '55 Chevy, to the tune of 11 second 1/4's. (I'm not so sure there were any rear wheel drive, 2.2 cars that could be a donor, though.)

Thanks Roger, but it will be FI slant six with a 4 speed lenco. Doesn't have to be the fastest, just has to get out there.

Do you have enough wheelbase? A slant with a 4 sp Lenco is very long.

I will use an air shifter if I have too. Might bolt the transmission to the rear!

My favorite picture of the car. Taken at Clay City by Rick Covalt.
