Does any one have knowledge of how many sets of HyperPak exhaust manifolds the factory produced ?

Mike, I don't know if anyone would know the answer. I know the history of my parts. Bought new in 1961, went on a Lancer and raced from day one. Second owner used them on a Studebaker circle track car in the mid 60's. Second owner sold them to me in 1972. In my experience you will find about 5 to 10 intakes to every set of exhaust manifolds you find. You could buy the items without buying the kit. I have thought about doing a registry of parts just out of interest, but not sure what it would prove. You will never find all them, they are hid away in corners all over the world. I only know about 4 sets, but I don't know much. Maybe owners on SS.Org will respond.

Thank you for the reply. I have a set and have been exploring reproducing them for a couple of years now. I'm just trying to get a feel for how many the factory may have originally produced.

What surprises me is no one (I think) has produced a good stainless steel 'shorty' type header for the Slant Six. Something like what Mopar would put on the engine if it were produced today.

IIRC, there were roughly 200 HPak kits made available for sale. I have an old article on my computer at home, I'll post it when I get home.

I would really like to see that! I have heard stories about dealers throwing them in the dumpsters after they set on shelves for years.

So I just did the math, the complete kit was 403.30. I chose 1961 and adjusted for inflation that is $ 3,395.17. It doesn't take much thought to figure not many people would fork out that much cash back in he day.

Yes!

THe Dont sell the Hyper-pack to anybody Sub section are wise words. My 69 Dart is just that.

Idles between 500-1800 RPM - THe hotter it gets the better - below 60°F fuggadabout it. It would have to be driven with 3 feet.

:-)

Thanks for posting Dennis!

Comparable to a well engineered Turbo Upgrade today - People sure buy those!

Thanks for posting that Zilla. Greg what cam are you using with your Hyper-pack set up and would it still be your choice if you were doing that engine over?
Thanks,
Brad

Yes I dont care about the idle.. if i waned good idle i woukd go efi or different cam.

Cam is old mopar performance .528" lift. Not sure of duration.

I use 1.6 roller rockers for a .562 total lift.
