Hi, sorry if this has been covered somewhere but I've looked around and cant find it anywhere. What size jets and needles did a factory super six carb run? Where can I get new ones?

Pretty sure edelbrock jets are interchangeable. As for size go to the thread under Engine , Frequently asked questions, scroll down to carbs and your will find info for jet sizes

I've already looked through that info, problem is no matter where I look i cant find what size jets and rods a factory slant six should use.

Problem is my bbd is still running the 318 jets and metering rods, I have no clue what size they are but they are way too big, and i cant find any info on a good starting point.

Ok, I see that there is quite a bit of info that you can no longer access in the FAQ - engine (near the top of the engine section, just above this thread).
However there is still plenty of info there under “carburettors" that you should be able to get the info from.
What we need before someone else can help is all your details. One is the BBD carb you have. Quite often they have an id tag on them, however need to know whether it is the later one with the tin top on it, or the earlier BBD.
Vehicle type and year will also help. If it is the later BBD with the tin top there is some adjustment to change the mixture if it is reasonably close. Also the V8 BBD has holes in the throttle butterflies they need blocking off.
If you do need to change the jets, it is not just the jet, you need to get the right combination of jets and metering rods, so if one person comes back and says #jet is:- ... you need to check what rods they are using with it too.
Over the years, with different vehicles, emission requirements etc the jets did change around a lot. You really need to get it close and then fine tune to your own requirement. Maybe no a silly idea to purchase one of those edelbrock jet kits so you can swap them around easily until you get it spot on.
Also tell people the problems you are having because it may not be a mixture problem as such (e.g. too fast of idle is those holes in butterflies)
p.s. I put a 318 BBD on a aussie 265 Hemi 6 and had to put bigger main jets in it, so that was opposite to what you may expect.

There is a lot of misinformation on the 318 BBD. Just bolting one on may give a 5% increase in power. Some BBD's can use AFB jets. Most can't. Nobody repos the metering rods. Some BBDs have holes in the throttle blades. Most don't. Most BBDs have worn out throttle shafts. This is the #1 problem. Just about all remanufactured BBDs are a mixed bag of parts. They may actually work, maybe.

IMO, I would buy an adapter plate and use an Autolite 2100. These are an excellent carb and you can actually buy jets for them so you can tune them. I like the ones for early '70s AMC 304 v8 with an automatic.

+1 for the Autolite 2100. The 2100 and 4100 are excellent performers and super easy to work on.

On tin top solid fuel carbs,small venturi , slant six used ,086 jet. Large venturi 318 carbs used .089 or .092 jets. About 1978 some 318,s got the small venturi and ,086 jet. In that last link carter says just drop down the jet number,use same metering rod.

Nice manuals. Still can't buy jets and rods for them. They were nice carbs 50 years ago, not so much now.

I have 4 main problems with the carb right now

1. My plugs indicate I'm very rich
2. I have a lean misfire at idle and the mixture screws are unresponsive. I have no detectable vaccum leaks so I assume this has to do with the holes in the throttle valves. How could I go about plugging those?
3. I have a bog right off idle, if I open the throttle too fast the car will flat out die. I have the accelerator pump linkage set for max. Stroke. I've read that this could be a metering rod adjustment issue.
4. Sometimes when coasting with the throttle closed around 50-60mph I notice a fuel smell. I suspect that's also a jetting issue or maybe my floats are set too high.

Also, I have an early bbd with the fuel bowl vent.
