Be sure to do the compression ratio "math" to be sure you have a reasonable effective compression ratio for the cam you plan to use.

The last "long rod" 225 (7 inch rod) set-up I did had a .024 negative deck after a light clean-up cut on the block.
With a flat top piston, .040 head gasket and a 60 cc head it had 10.1 static compression and 8.0 effective compression with a cam that has a 65 degree ABDC intake valve closing point.

Great thank you I just got a call from the race shop with my head and we’re going bigger valves, real nice port and polish job with a 3 angle valve job! She should run good when done this is my first 225 so don’t mind my questions I’m 19 and learning lol

My adventure is far from over I still got a lot of manifold testing and carb testing ahead of me but I learned a lot of different set ups and combos that seem to work pretty well I thank you guys so much for your help you are all very knowledgeable people when it comes to these motors!!
