PERMATEX COPPER SPRAY GASKET: OF COURSE, CLEAN SURFACES

HANG HEAD GASKET FROM A WIRE OUTSIDE.

SPRAY-COAT GASKET ON BOTH SIDES -- LET DRY 1/2 HOUR BEFORE

NEXT APPLICATION. MINE IS 'MUDDY' WHEN I APPLY 50' Lbs - THEN 60.....

LAST HEAD APP WAS IN '00, NOW '19......WOW !!

Aluminum block Sl6 engines are challenging to seal...
All the surfaces have to be completely flat and clean...
It sounds like the block deck and head surfaces need re-machining so you can get the proper clamping forces on the head gasket.
