The 3 speed column mounted shifter in my 78 D100 is getting sloppy-looks to be that the roll pin pivot hole in the column facia is worn eggshaped. Anyone ever done any repairs on this? Is it possible to push out the roll pin, drill for the next larger size pin to make this repair? Couldn't find anything with the search tool Thanks

Found this ten year old post searching for info on this problem. I got lucky and found a good column shift housing for my 66 dart 3 speed in the same color. Anyone have any tips or tricks for replacement?

It's a basic disassembly and replacement job.

Pull the steering wheel - then 2 bolts under dash then 3 bolts on the toe plate that sets in the firewall.

remove the steering shaft coupler from the steering box.
Unplug the turn signal wire harness.
sometimes the brake pedal will get in the way it might need to be disconnected from the master cylinder rod for clearance.

Lift the column out.

there are 2 to 3 tubes in the column...; again it's basic disassembly with sockets, clip pliers and a hummer and punch for the roll pin.

Thanks, Greg. I disassembled the donor column and swapped the collar and turn signal switch without removing the column from the car. Shifts the best it ever has.
