The 2019 series jumped off at MoKan Dragway in Asbury, MO this past weekend hosted by Team Green.

James Soard takes the lead in is clean purple and white 71 Valiant 4 door with Runner Up finishes both days.

George Kelley showed up Saturday and drove nephew James Soard's 64 Valiant wagon 4 speed, then proceeded to take the win and the #2 spot.
(George loves bangin' gears! :D )

Jeff Strahl drove Mark Goodman's 66 Dart wagon to put himself in 3rd.
(Jeff is working on a 69 AMX. Mark has been trying to convince him to put a Slant 6 in it... )

Laney Heisten was there both days running mid 14's in her 63 Dart, winning a round on Saturday for the #4 spot.

Bill Kendall brought his SDRA rail from Tulsa Saturday and dialed in at 11.42.

Denny Baierl made the long trip with Steve Nitti and his beautiful gold super duper charged Duster and clicked off a 10.77 right off the trailer. Unfortunately, that ate a piston, so they packed up and headed the 18 hours back home without setting the record they were after.

The next event on the calendar is at Mason-Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown, MD May 4-5 hosted by Rick Covalt and the Covalt Clan.

The Killer Bees on the West Coast have had some really hard times the last couple years. They have not put together a schedule for 2019 yet.

Here are the MoKan results and current National standings:

The Spring Mason-Dixon race was last weekend with 7 racers on Saturday and Sunday rained out.

Ron Hamby won the event with Jack Everhardt Jr. as runner up.

Here are the results from the four races held at Wilkesboro, NC this weekend. You can also see that Ryan has taken over the points lead with his two wins and Runner Up finishes.

Once Seymour validates the records that were set this weekend as official I will add 20 points for Ryan, Lou, Jack Jr., Jack III, Norm and the Kentucky Poser.

Records were set for:

Ryan Covalt - A/Gas: ET = 7.0540 and MPH = 94.24
Lou Madsen - B/Nitrous: ET = 8.1111 and MPH = 83.60
Norm Foster - B/Nitrous: ET = 8.2677 (No 1% Back Up for MPH - 88.30) That 88.30 would take the record... for now... I asked Norm to check if he has a good back up pass.
Rob Simmons - B/Nitrous: ET = 8.9681 and MPH = 74.27
Jack Everhardt Jr. - B/Nitrous: ET = 10.4201 (No 1% Back Up for MPH - 65.19)
Jack Everhardt III - D/Nitrous: ET = 10.0523 and MPH = 71.55

I will update again once I get the points from the Woodburn race.

My money is on Ryan again this year. Ron will take the lead back at Knoxville and they will duke it out at Clay City, leading to a close final at Mason-Dixon with Ryan pulling out the win. Those 20 bonus points for setting a record really can make the difference in a close competition.

Hey Ron! I volunteer to help you and Kay install and remove all that steel plate if you want to nab one of those D/Alcohol records, just to be safe...

The Killer Bees had four racers in attendance July 21st at the Woodburn Mopar event. They didn't get together for a Slant 6 points race, but represented the Slanted family by going rounds in the other classes.

Here are the four horsemen along with the updated National points. It's good to see you putting points on the board Killer Bees!! :D

Next race on the calendar is Knoxville, TN 16-17 August (Fri/Sat).

Some smack talkin' young upstart that's been gittin' mentored by that Sly Fox Meril Bruner had the audacity (that means he was feelin' his oats, Cookie  ) to post all over the internet that he was challengin' another feller from the woods of Kentucky! So,... The Kentucky Poser fired right back that he was his huckleberry & now it's GAME ON!!

Y'all come on down to the Holler in Raccoon Valley to see the next generation of the Bruner Clan take on the keyboard blabber mouth Kentucky Poser!

Funny Truck versus GodsRods Duster II

It should be a fun race. Both cars run 9.10 - 9.20 in the 1/8th. Fun stuff!
