Oo, I thought there was a 904 in there... That's what I think we should run first, unless we can find a good 833 or T5 conversion stuff. T5s are usually beat to hell when you find them used. I say 904 to start, then work on some kind of manual trans with not horrendous gear splits...

But Lou,... It's SOOOOO Lemony the way it is.....

Plenty of other things to do before this thing will roll under its own power anyway...

Too bad Pagel said the aluminum floor was a No Go... I'll put the plasma cutter away and get the scrapers back out...

Wait, you asked if an aluminum floor was okay? Rookie.
You're supposed to paint the floor and if someone asks then maybe you tell.

That's SOOOOO Cheaty!

I likes it...

(Until we get caught and can't race... and waste all that money on entry fees... :( )

I really do believe that until you asked no one would have checked. C'est la vie!

If the rules don't say you can't do it, then you can.

There's usually a rule that says "if we don't say you can, you can't."

Imagine building your race car, registering for an event and you have 4-5 guys all sign up, travel to the track, pay their entry fees along with pitching in for all the consumables, etc...

You go through tech and the guy says, "You can't have an aluminum floor. No racing until it's replaced with metal."

In Lemons there are rules, but the tech guy is the law.

In this case it's better to check first. Your mileage may vary...

Tech guy? Lol In all seriousness I like a steel floor. When you are racing with a lot of cars on track, some times things fall off and steel under your butt is reassuring should you run over a driveshaft or whatever. Can't wait to see the finished car.

Come to the race Jan 31st and go through tech with us. Judge for yourself.

Lemons is a lot of fun and has a silly atmosphere, but they do take their safety tech inspection seriously.

I know all about LeMons tech. I raced Altamont Speedway in 2008, Reno-Fernley Going For Broken '09, and The Ridge in 2015. Also did the very first ChumpCar race which was Halloween weekend 2009, Portland.

I'm not judging anyone, I'm just having fun following this thread. I've been to a Lemons race and I've been through tech inspections on my bikes when I was road racing.

Hey Adam! Get the plasma cutter & MIG welder warmed up!
