I've seen a couple of twin 2bbl on a slant setups. That's fairly most likely to find out down here, where 4 bbls are scarce and kinda "unexplored territory". I've seen 2 staged 2 barrels, 2 wegular webers, 2 350 2300 holleys, etc (depending on the cam choice and transmission choice)

I'm preparing for myself a twni staged 2 barrels solex carbs on a dual manifold. I'll be using small primaries bigger secondaries staged carbs. I think that if carefully planned and executed, that setup can bring more economy then a regular big 2 barrel, with better throttle response and better efficiency when it comes to pressure drops, yet not loosing any power on the high band, (actually I think that it can improves both ends since almost about the same amount of air will be going in but trhu more openings, wich according to physics laws is more desirable)

Summit Racing has them, but they are only machined for dual 1 bbl. carbs.

http://www.summitracing.com Search "slant offenhauser" to find the manifold.

For a picture of this intake, see: http://www.offyparts.com/product_info.p ... 4ee792582f

True, but they have nice large carb mounting pads plenty big enough to be remachined for 2bbls.

Wow, I hope I lose my auction now, I want one of those. Let me ask you a question, if you run standard 1920's on it, does it come with a throttle setup/kickdown linkage, or do you have to fab something? Do you need special air cleaners or will two regular cleaners fit (on the intake and under the hood)?

I love how clean and tidy it looks under the hood.

See this thread. The Offy intake is #5041, and it ships with linkage kit 5041K, which contains some of the parts you need to make it work with the '60-'66 rotating-rod style throttle setup. There is no prefab kit to make it work with the cable-type setup. If you run Holley 1920s, you can use the slick trick of making a new choke shaft that runs through both carburetors, out of an old SL6 pushrod. Makes automatic choke adaptation easier.

Two '63-'67 "small and tall" standard-equipment air cleaners will fit and clear one another. They will clear the hood on most '63-up cars. They will have trouble clearing the hood on a 225 engine in a '60-'62 A-body (OK on a 170); you can use shorter filter elements to help gain clearance here.

Keep in mind that any multiple-carb setup, even one that comes with a ready-made linkage kit, poses special (read: large) challenges in setup and tuning. When you add in the necessity of fabricating your own throttle and kickdown linkage, the complexity goes way up. Don't know what auction you're hoping you lose, but if it's for a 2bbl setup, and you're new to this, then you should be hoping you win it.

You're probably right, I'll have to file that one in my "someday it'd be nice" folder.

That's why I wanted to know how much fab work is involved, probably would turn into a big moneymaker for my mechanic.

Hi Slant 6 Dan. Do you have the instructions to use a pushrod to hook up both chokes? I’m going to install a Offenhauser intake with 2 Holley 1920’s.
Thank you.
