I would guess Mad Scientist Matt Should be able to help me out here.

I just Got My Firmware on the MS 2 Updated to MS2/Extra 3.4.4... from the 2008 (when I bought and installed the Box) V2.878 Embedded Code by Bowling& Grippo.

I got the Car running and Idling as it did on the old files and Firmware. The closed feedback idle control is glorious! I should have done the firmware upgrade years ago, but I was unaware of the additional features and functionality of the firmware upgrades.

I want to add the A/C Idle Up Feature, I have no problem figuring out the tuning settings in Tuner Studio...

My questions are as follows...
1. What port to use for the input to turn the function on? It seems there are many Ports to choose from.
- I have a +12V Switched Power source that I can tap from when the A/C Compressor is running.

2. I am guessing I will need to access this input on / through the DB 15 Cable?
- I will have to buy one of those if so..This Would do the trick!
**If I could use the Relay board / DB 39 for the input that would make the wiring oh so simple.**

3. What modifications may be needed inside the MS2 Box to connect my newfound input to the actual port / post / in on the Board?
I can solder a jumper wire inside the MS 2, No problem.

4. I am guessing that sending unregulated +12VDC to the Logic board is a no-no!... how to I convert that down to a low amperage +5VDC signal?

Thanks for your help!

You mentioned a DB15, so I'm guessing this is a V3.57 board. Have a look at section 3.4.9.2 of the MS2/Extra V3.57 hardware manual:

http://www.msextra.com/doc/pdf/html/MS2V357_Hardware-3.4.pdf/MS2V357_Hardware-3.4-31.html

You'll want the 12V switch input. That link covers how to build the 12V input circuit and what ports you can use. You'll need to check the board for unused pins on the DB37 or DB15. The relay board and cable from the time you ordered probably doesn't have any access to pins 3 through 6; this was added to the relay board maybe around that time, but the cable added this later.

It seems that the Relay Board and Associated Spare / Empty Pins are all used for grounds or for IAC / IGN Trigggering.. So I am Going to use Pin #15 on the DB 15.

I built the Port circuit Today, minus the Input to the DB15, I will get that ordered and also need the 0.22μF Capacitor..
When those parts arrive I should be able to finish this mod.

Closed Loop Idle with the A/C on or off is doing very well without it for now.
