Well I got the fuel cell in and Secured down.

The Trunk floor is much more solid now with the box below the fuel cell.

I am waiting to get a few more small adapters to connect all the Fuel lines up to the pump.

I also Put on the spring clamps today as well.

Yep So I ran the car at TNT last night.

I will post a pic of the car with the race wheels and tires; which are waay lighter than the old steelies.

Anyway,

Here are The Passes on a 1968 Bone Stock Motor / Trans with hundreds of thousands of miles on it.

Run 1 - In "D"
60' - 2.53
1/8 - 12.10 @ 54.23
1/4 - 19.54 @ 64.67

Run 2 - Removed Air cleaner - Shifted 2-3 Manually
60' - 2.50
1/8 - 11.96 @ 55.38
1/4 - 19.23 @ 66.52

Run 3
60' - 2.53
1/8 - 11.97 @ 55.96
1/4 - 19.13 @ 67.56

Run 4
60' - 2.50
1/8 - 11.98 @ 54.86
1/4 - 19.25 @ 66.55

It Sure Seemed like Everything was in slow motion Compared to running the dart.

Hopefully Next year I can post some 13's or faster with this machine!

Greg

Hello Everyone,

It's been a bit of time, but absolutely nothing has happened to the Ruster Racer since the last post - Marching band and football have taken over my life until this thanksgiving break. Beside spending time with friends and family, I am giving thanks to the slant six engine block, Gathering up some robust speed parts and Making sone necessary Block mods!

Well I did a basic Clean and inspect of the block Tapping all threaded holes And Lots of studying of Doc's playing with blocks and Oiling system prep articles. This block Came from a 64 Truck So it's yellow. I have had it in the basement for years and The Cylinders are so badly pitted I figured it would be a perfect canidate for the .104" overbore. It had sat in the dirt for years and The head was sceapped a long time ago due to the valves being frozen in it. I Got Me a Long 5/16 Drill fron the Crank and Main feeds - Also Lots of oil pump Gallery Passage smoothing.

Pistons are assembled on rods with pin locks and rings - These will get sent to the machine shop to get balanced and then Ring fitment time when the block comes back.

Also the Head is shown Grinded, tanked and ready to go to Mike Jeffries To work The Nebraska Magic.

(many Pics to Follow) long Post.

Greg

Tom, thanks for the words of encourgament.

Here are some Shots of the Transmission Tear apart Clean and Rebuild. I will be putting in new bands, Clutches and a trans go TF 3 Valve body From Tom. This is kinda fun because I have never really tore apart an auto trans and put it back together before this.
