during my pic-a-part pilgrimage, walked up on a 78 mustang II, forgot how small those cars were.
Anyway. the motor is an inline 4, carb is a progressive 2 bbl,
would that carb be anything that would work on a slant / super six intake.

Possibly. Several board members have tried this. I think the consensus is the Holley/Weber 5200 would be OK on a stock 225, but a modified motor needs more airflow. I have never run one, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Others who have run the, will chime in, I am sure.

Mean time, do a search on this board for Holley 5200

Tried that very Holley Weber on a 225 with a Comp 264 cam and shorty headers and 4-speed, didn't dig it . Had to drill the idle jet to get enough fuel to idle. Had a flat spot if you hit the throttle too quickly. Less bottom end torque than the Holley 390. Didn't leave it on long enough to tell much about fuel economy. I really feel that two progressive 2bbls on a dual Offy intake would be sweet, but a 4bbl on a divided intake manifold would be easier and work 98% as well.

If memory serves, Mustang II’s 4 banger was 2.3 L---1.4 L smaller than a stock slant. A pair of these little darlings would probably work real nice if one could synchronize them.

that carb may be something to have for an "economy special" slant,,
