After 2 3/4 years I got my car back together again.. I rebuilt the engine (new block / rods) and changed to a Nash 5-speed, still trying to run 10.90s with a single four barrel... I'm going out TnT on Friday, so will see GO or BLOW???

Good luck Scott, you were already close with the 4 sp setup.

The only thing holding you back is that your engine is too vertical.
:D
I think if you shorten your right side motor mount bracket a little, it might just do the trick.

My engine is SLANTED a little, about 4 deg to the driver side so that the Webers side drafts will fit passed the shock tower...

Looks like I'm SHOOTIN BLANKS (again), went out Friday night couldn't get into 2nd at 7Krpm both times, and only got 2 time trials... The engine sounds good (HIT 8500 trying to hit 2nd, SCARY!!!) but I think it's alright.. I will pull the trans, and look at it, I think I know what's wrong.. Might try again if the weather holds out....

Scott, i've raced many DN trannies before, its likely a shift ring burred up or a slider. Is it a pre face tooth engagement style trans.

No, that is normal. They do require dressing up from time to time, those being burred up is what makes the slider not engage.

Scott, it sounds like you lift off the gas between shifts. A DN requires a stead load applied to it to shift smoothly. Cracking the gas can actually make it jump out of gear when load is no longer applied to it. Don't know if that is a different technique than a Jericho uses or not. Here is a video of the car my tranny came out of. Notice how the RPM doesn't fall between shifts.

It's more that it didn't go into gear, not popping out.. We re-cut the lugs on 2nd gear to clean it up, I haven't been scents..
My Jerico shifts so smooth, I don't lift with it, just tap the clutch (I can shift it clutchless sometimes), I think it's just a learning curve too.. (I need to look at my rev-limiter also, 8500 is alittle scary)...
