I've seen a few pickups show up in the slant six racing videos so I got to wondering how fast some of your slant powered trucks are.
Who has the fastest slant powered, street driven truck?

My 76 D100 did 85 on the highway when I drove it from Salem, OR to Tacoma, WA. It should do even better now with a two barrel carb and timing that isn't somewhere after TDC. I will report more about its performance once I get done with the carb swap. 8)

Unfortunately TurboRam blew the Slant up. Last I heard he was doing a diesel swap. :(

my brick goes as fast as anything on our 70mph highways around here - and you know they ain't doin just 70 either! :D

it is falling apart on me because i can't keep up with the maintenance, but it climbs and accelerates good enough to freak people out still...

Nick's truck was street drivable, but he trailered it to racetracks. Very impressive piece of work.

My old 1991 Slantkota would do low 15s and still tow my racecar. Drove it all up and down the East Coast and mid Atlantic for several years. 18-19 MPG.

I had a blast driving it at Hagertown a few years ago.

Gee Sandy, I had forgotten you had raced the Slantkota that time - nice memory. I guess we still need to get you behind the wheel of the 68 turbo Dart and Project V!

Someday, I might put a turbo 225 in my 89 B350 Van. Would make plenty more power than the 360 in it now. Would be nice again to have two Slant vehicles at the track with one trip/driver to get 'em there.

Lou
