Hi Guys,

I am getting into replacing many of the Seals and gaskets on my recently acquired 64 dart GT.

It is from southern GA and I Imported it 14 hours north to Pennsylvania.

Some Questions:

What is this Seal Called? / Where can I get one? Metro Moulded ? etc?
Image

What compound / method did the Factory use or should I use to attach the Vent window to the Lower Pivot Frame?
Image

Front Window Channel: is there a readily known / available Part # for these and who supplies it?
Image

Front Door for hardtop Rear window Channel Track Felt: is there a readily Available Part # for this and who supplies it?

Thanks for any and all Info!

Cheers!

Greg

I am also working on a 64 Dart convertible. I think the vertical channel track felt lining at both ends of the window may come as a generic roll and might not even be molded into the u shape. If you find a name/source/PN I would like to know. I ordered catalog from Gary Goers and I will look in there.

My other question was on the door seals. I ordered through Dantes and what came were 2 10ft lengths that you cut to size. At the rear end they tuck up into the new pillar? seals. At the top of the window frame at the windshield they just end with the fabric covering fraying and the rubber seal tube open at the top. My old ones seemed to have a spoon shaped rubber end that cap and transition the end of the seal. I not finding any listing a separate piece and Dante was sure there wasn't anything like that (molded end) on the original seal. Does anyone know?

I got the recommended catalog. It is very cool all hand drawn and takes some attention to go through. When I got my door seals they were just lengths of pinch weld horizontal seal with a soft woven cloth covering. It did not look at all like what came off. At the top of the windshield there was a flattened rubber end. In Goers catalog pg 37 there it was. A separate piece that glues on to the door seal. It is specific to Abody convertibles 63-66 and called Upper windshield post seal. They are side specific.
I still have the same question as Greg about the seal shown in his first photo which goes into the chrome strip at the back of the window (slides on or glued) and holds that rubber weatherstrip which seals the door window to the rear window when up. It is very tricky to find or even ask about a seal or part when you don't know what it is called and the seal is so shot you hardly know the profile. Thanks all. What would we do without the gurus who know this stuff not to mention stock, supply and often create or remake this stuff? These aint mustangs with every thing on the shelf.

I had good luck with Just Mopar. I think the products were made by Metro but the service was good before and after the sale.
