I have been searching on site but am a bit confused.
I am just about ready to fire it up for the first time but need to know where to run the vacuum advance line to and what initial timing to run .
I know i will need to get a suitable cam to get better performance but just want to run it to see what happens .
My set up is as follows.
Slant 6 with low comp pistons , unknown compression ratio.
Chrysler electronic distributor with HEI which has had lighter springs installed from bigslant6fan(i think that is his username)
I can't remember which coloured springs i installed but it seems to rev up quickly.
I have a L67 (Eaton M90) grafted onto a slant 6 2 barrel intake which will be running around 6 PSI given the pulley sizes i have used.
I am running a Weber 45 DCOE as a draw through .
So my questions are where to run the vacuum advance line to , or plug it ?
What timing to run?
From what i have read i may have to lock the distributor but just want to run it as is to see if it will run.
Thanks in advance,
Greg
