Hey guys, got an issue and I hope it's an easy fix. I got this slant 6 with a crank flange I.D. of 1.55" and my torque converter nose pilot hub is 1.88" can I hone to fit or am I hosed?

Yes you can hone to fit, it will leave the ring on the crank flange a bit skinny, but you're worried about torque convertor, not a flywheel.... make sure your flex plate matches too...

My father has a honing kit, is it something that can be accomplished at home or strictly machine shop?

Strictly machine shop. Way too much material to hone away. You need a crankshaft lathe and cutting tools...

If it is not a special stall speed converter, you can get a "conversion" conveter from dacco.
call (800) 443-2226

For a 67 older engine and 68 newer trans part number 762S
For a 68 newer engine and trans part number 762
For a 68 newer engine and 67 older trans part number 762X

I think if you call them, it is possible to special order a limited higher stall speed over stock.

You can have a nosed ("Forstner" concept, but for metal) cutter made that'd do it (carefully) in place, but you'd still need a later flex plate. The "adapter" T/C mentioned'd likely be cheaper and easier all the way around.

The engine isn't in "& all" because it isn't even bolted up to the trans yet.
Look, You've got two choices, pull the engine & replace it or the crank in it,
or pull the crank & have the hub register turned oversize.
The problem here is the subject vehicle is a truck, and just as on FABO,
You have not specified whether or not the tranny is A904/998/999 based,
lock-up or non-lock-up, or A727 based. If, and only if, it is the A904
series & non-lock-up the hybrid converter is available as Charrlie_S
has advised. But it is not available in the types generally wanted for
performance. Some of us are familiar w/Your vehicle, but posting
open questions w/o providing details leads down all sorts of misleading
& fruitless paths, help Us help You Dude, 'ts all I'm sayin'
Peace.........

That is correct. My error, in assumming it is a non lockup 904 trans.
