Las Vegas, NV
March 20-22 "Mopars at the Strip" (CONFIRMED)
Doctor Dodge (Doug Dutra) and his son Allen will coordinate our 2009 SSRN season opener race. As in years past, Fridays Test & Tune is the best chance to make passes. Friday night, we have a team dinner at Jerrys Nugget. Saturday at MATS is kind of slow with 2 time trials in the AM, then a Gamblers race for best ET and RT. (you need to buy-in) Saturday night dinner at Main street Station buffet. Sunday afternoon is the SL6 Points race that pays-out $50.00 for each round you win.
Rick Covalt, and
longtime Slant Six enthusiast has stepped up to organize this race. A
great opportunity to earn prize money and points at the Mason-Dixon
Dragway in Hagerstown, MD. This race will replace our Pittsburgh race
from years past. This is the weekend AFTER Memorial Day.
Redding,
CA, Redding Dragstrip May 30, 31 (CONFIRMED)
Redding Dragstrip is the Killer Bee-hive and where
the West Coast Team is getting big car counts. Redding is a small
track where you can get-in lots of runs. Admission cost is low,
camping at the track is free and it is a great place to make runs and
have fun.

Knoxville, TN June 5-6 (CONFIRMED -
For Friday & Saturday)
Meril Bruner will host another race at Knoxville Dragway in
Maynardville, TN. Last years race drew 18 cars and we are
hoping for some new blood this year. Meril and Ella may host another
cookout at their house before the race! SCT sponsorship would be
behind the race purse.

Sonoma, CA - Infineon
Raceway June 6th, "Wine Country Mopars" (CONFIRMED)
This is a first
rate drag strip and part of the famous Sears Point road course.
The track is on the doorstep of the Napa Valley wine country and 20
minutes from San Francisco so there is a lot to see and do before and
after this race. There is another big Mopar show & swap on Sunday
down the road in Fremont, CA.

Woodburn, OR
June 20-21, Woodburn Dragstrip "Oldies but Goodies (CONFIRMED
A nice track that
enjoys having the Slant Six racers. Saturday is the SL6 points race
and Sunday has an all Inliner class.
$10.00 to camp at the track.

Eureka, CA - Samoa
Dragstrip July 11-12, (CONFIRMED)
This
will bee the second year for this event and if its
anything like 2008, it will be a blast! Samoa is right at sea level
and the cars run fast there. Andrew and Jessica Howard host this race
and we do a Friday night team dinner out and then a BBQ
on Saturday after the race. If you ever wanted to vacation in
California, this would be a good place to do it.

N. Wilkesboro, NC July 11
(CONFIRMED)
Ron Hamby is hosting
the ever-popular North Wilkesboro, NC race again this year, Sponsored
by Empire Chrysler, this race will be co-headlining with a Nostalgia
Gearjammers race that day. The traditional SL6 (race) car show will
take place at Empire Chrysler, starting around 9 AM Saturday, on the
west end of Wilkesboro, off the main drag. (US 421).
Same program as the
Oldies but Goodies event last year. Saturday is the SL6 points race and
Sunday has an all Inliner class.
$10.00 to camp at the track.

Kearney, NE August 15-16 (CONFIRMED)
Mike Jeffrey and Lou Madsen are planning a race for Kearney, NE
(Mikes home track). The idea is t bring together racers from
either end of the country, to a central location. Based on feedback,
it seems likely we could get 12-20 cars together! A East meets
West SL6 race for sure!
Medford,
OR Aug. 29-30 Champion Raceway "Hot Rod Reunion"
(CONFIRMED)
Friday
night bracket racing, free doughnuts and coffee in the morning, free
BBQ and a live band Saturday night and lots of real fast racing
action all weekend long. Saturday SL6 points race and Sunday
all Inliner race. Camping at the track is free.
Bristol, TN Sept 4-6 Thunder Valley Dragstrip

Currently, we do not have a race organizer for this years
Bristol Mopar Thunder event. The dates are up on the Bristol website
as Sept 4-6th, and our SL race would be on Sunday. There may-be
interest in trying for a 2-day race here. SCT sponsorship would be
behind the race purse.

Sacramento, CA Sac.
Raceways "Mopar Magic" September 13 (CONFIRMED)
This one-day event has
been a California tradition for years. Lots of fast Mopars, a Mopar
only car show and swap meet. Friday night Test & Tune
and a "all makes" race on Saturday night. Free camping at Dave E's
place or at the track. After race BBQ at Dave's on Sunday.
