I stole this thread off Moparts. Slant Sixers have the reputation of being cheap, so I thought many here would be interested. I know I'm going to try it on my '68 Signet. I've used john deere implement paint before and normal house enamel sprayed through a gun, but that tops them both. Word of advice don't use house enamel without some prep work bugs will peel the paint when they hit. |

So am I understanding correctly that he just thinnned the Tremclad? SOunds liek a neat technique, but what colors does Tremclad come in? |

Only applying the paint is easier with the method used in the link. Body repair and prep is still required and is 90% of the work. Prep is also 90% of what takes to make a paint job look good. Besides ease of application, the low cost is another reason to try this. Those that have bought automotive paint know how expensive materials are, the $ spent on just the taxes can buy a "Tremclad Special". |

| This Rocks!
I now know how the '65 is gonna get painted! This kinda thing is right up my alley. I'm sick of elitists who say "if you want to play, you've got to pay!" etc. I'm always lookin' for new ways to show 'em where they can stick it. 
I try to live by what I call the 90/10 principle. You can have something 90% as good as the rest for 10% of the cost, if you use your head instead of just following the rest of the sheep. This fits my philosophy perfectly
