For the next projects on the 68 Barracuda I need to be able to load - unload the car when it

is a rolling chassis, no motor / tranny.

I mounted a 2.5 x 2.5 section of angle iron on the upper rail and a section
of 3 x 3 angle iron under the floor directly below the top piece. The two sections
of angle iron are both bolted to the front bulkhead and then bolted together through the deck to
sandwich the trailer floor.

The hitch receiver bolts through the two sections of angle iron.

I bought a HF Badlands 5000 winch, it is listed as a ATV winch. There are several youtube
videos showing folks using that winch to load cars on trailers and that winch has generally
good reviews. If I was going to be loading - unloading full size cars - pickup trucks I would
buy something bigger. I though that winch would do the job, and it did.
The car rolled up very easy.

I use a 2000#boat winch.

Great arm workout.

I would suspect what you have is fine for any car on your trailer. You did just negate 100# of that fine AL trailer though... :D

Winches are great to have. You'll be amazed at the crap you haul home whdn you have a trailer and a winch.
