Hello I am rebuilding a slant and wondering if anyone can help me identify this cam.

Next to the D4 is seems to have the numbers 253 24?? Its hard to tell the marks are not too prominent.

Look on the ends of the cam for numbers. That is where you normally find the cam grind / manufacturer numbers.

Is there some reason you think the cam is other than stock?

I'm not too sure about the origins of the motor and it seems like someone has been through it before. Figured someone much more familiar than I would be able to tell right away if it was stock or not.

Do you have a "caliper"? If you do, measure across the high part of the cam. Then meAsure across the lobe 90 degrees (lower area). Subtract the numbers, then multiply by 1.5. That will give you the approx lift of the valve. Very hard to measure the duration "on the bench", but the lift might indicate whether it is a stock cam or not.
