Rob,

Thanks very much for taking care of that, and for relaying the super nice message from Pat. We will miss racing there this year!

Lou

I talked to Aaron Sipple today, getting things ironed out for Clay City.

It is a Friday/Saturday event this year, using Sunday as a potential rain day reschedule...

I’m trying to get 1/8 mile Friday and 1/4 mile Saturday.

I’ll start a separate thread for comments.

For all concerned. I have been trying to lock in a Oct 10,11 date for the Fall Mason Dixon race. I got this from the owner. Just wanted to keep everyone in the loop.

Quote:
With everything going on and the amount of spectator loss, I have not considered doing any planning on a year that is not producing enough income to keep the track open. All the planning in the world has been useless, if we are even open in October that may work but under the current conditions if we don’t soon begin to be allowed to conduct business we may not even be here then.

I plan to contact him 2 weeks out from those dates and hopefully have a definite answer by then.
Rick

Hi RIck, Please confirm with us when you know for sure that the race will be scheduled.

Thanks,

Is it in the rules that points races had to be confirmed 90 days prior to the event?

When was the Mason-Dixon race date confirmed?

Mark

No, but it may have been at one time. Below quote is from the current rules.

Quote:
Makeup races may be scheduled with reasonable advance notice, so long as efforts are made to notify potential participants.

This is a makeup race from the May race that was cancelled due to the Covid virus shutdown. The only reason it has not been "confirmed" is because the track was in danger of closing up.The owner told me the Oct. dates should be fine as long as they still in business.

Yep I sent an email last evening. Should know something soon! I can't imagine we are not a go. They have been having good turn outs every week. I will start a new Mason Dixon thread.
