Looking good! Nice attention to the little details, that makes the finished product so much nicer.

Also, I LOVE your use of the car wash stall to swap in the HEI!!!

Well I ordered a fender so I figured I'd find the paint etc. So I had....hmm...an acquaintance  (just go with it) go out to the garage and she snapped some pictures of the codes. Only problem is they don't turn up as colors for those years  also appears I am lucky that I have a limited slip and 8.25 rear :?: I'll get the pics of the plate up tomorrow and maybe the guru's can school me a bit. :D
Codes on the left BUA, ?KG, DCC -A833 (nonOD?), DJB 3300# front axle, DMD 3.54 axle, DRA CHRY 8.25 (axle not the size of my cherry! ), NDA catalytic conv...yeah deleted, SJC, SNC
CODE RIGHT: DRE -rear axle chry, OSA limited slip, PC3 primary color, QS7 secondary color, SKA, SNF.

Well boredom and envy strikes yet again! So I ordered some parts for the truck which kind of seals the deal for going turbo.

Aeromotive 13301, 3-65 psi bypass w 1:1 rise rate. 3 ports all 3/8 NPT
Autometer 1471 gauge 30hg/20psi (wh1c factory wastegate is 17 so went 20 just in case i go that high and use the wastegate.)
Autometer 15198 dual a pillar mount fits 86-93? ram look for under diesel
New holley nitrophyl floats center hung
percy 15001 adjust a jet (will do a full write up on this, take one for the team)
jet extentions (not sure if needed, @$8 ill go with it)
russels billet fuel block (to divide the oil line for the turbo) RUS-650380 has 3 ports all 1/2" NPT and one 1/8" for a gauge. This is to run the line up through the front oil cooler before going to the turbo.

So that was 375.69 right off the top. I think i have 15 in the holley adapter (MRG-1937 to mate 2300 to super6 intake), and 100 in a holley 2300 500cfm (not even rebuilt yet), and 200 in an innovatice LC-1 WBO2 so for those keeping count, that is roughly $700  and dont even have a fuel pump or lines. Turbo (WH1C free), no exhaust...dang..forgot to order a J-pipe. That being said, People who ask whats it cost to go turbo, this is just the TIP of the whole deal and I dont even know all of them.

J-pipes? I know pishta runs one and seen it but what I dont know is 2.5" or 2.25". I asked elsewhere how much you could bore the stock mani, its been done to 2.25, but is that the max?

Still on the list: Fuel lines to and from, fuel pump, turbo flange, manifold flang, J-pipe, oil cooler, carb hat, cold piping, BOV, Misc lines, most likely switch from 833 OD to 904tf. small items here and there as well...add downpipe.. on and on it goes.

And Ill throw this in here, Ive searched and not found, TURBORAM-going to pick your brain since i dont see a build thread for your truck! :D

Not many mention that they are still in contact with the previous owner of their vehicle so I figured Id add to this. I maintain email with Peter who owned the truck before me, we send photos and updates back and forth for the progress that we have made on each others trucks. When we first traded it was emails back and forth of whats this do, whats this wire, did you know about this, etc etc. Been a huge help having the knowledge of what had been done by the PO. And nice to know the history. I emailed him last night to let him know of this board and the thread on the old dodge and he could follow along with the updates. He was nice enough to reply and let me know that he had actually found 2 more photos in his recycle been. So here is a photo of the fender dent that was there before he got it.
ImageHe is a paint and body guy and did let me know that it was not a good idea to try and pull it bc of the crease in the body line.
Next up is a picture of when Peter had it showing how much was going on and the location of the original Lean Burn computer before they moved them to the driver side fender well.
Image
Also you can see the location of the original Cat that I deleted with the 81 Down pipe. looking at this and then the one after deleting most the things under the hood is like night and day.
Image
So this is the newest that I have. Soon I should be able to update with some more parts that were ordered to add to the xmas list of things I have waiting at home.

Nice work and I like your attention to detail. Can't wait to follow your turbo work.

Ok now I need to jack this thread so someone can teach me how to put pics of my 84 D-100 that I am just finishing with installing my new engine in according to the DadTruck specs.

Thx, Ray

Load them to a server like imageshack (I use it) then it will give you the "code" for posting them here. Usually you just highlight and copy the code from the "forum" box. It's easy once you get the first one. And there's and FAQ on how to as we'll somewhere. Lets see that D100!!

I'll add the links later but I changed to the all black dash and added my two pod pillar mount w boost and wideband installed. You can click on an older picture link to get to them. That's right, soon, I'll be in boost! Have to make a trip soon to Indy to pick up the Holley 350 too.

As the subject goes, so it's time for an update. I'll keep it condensed as best I can.

Full time school at 15hrs, drill weekends, kids almost every weekend etc etc.
So what I have managed. I did pick up the holley 350 from Wayne and added a Percy adjust a jet to it. Which for me was great, flog it and adjust as needed. Dialed right in w the wideband.
Then decided (don't know why) filled up w 17 gal of E85. Having wideband I dialed it in rather fast. Ran great until it started to turn cold so I went back to the carter bbd. However it has started to eat oil so I set on a quest to find and engine to rebuild while I could still drive to minimize down time.
Thanks goes out to Wayne (Wveneble) and John (dadstruck) for locating one. Drilled this weekend by the Indianapolis airport so Sat. After drill I drove over to ohio and picked up a "rebuilt" engine. Seller claimed he was "almost positive it had been bored and thinks it has a diff cam in it. Paid, loaded and drove home today.
Stopped by Wayne's house to let him see it. Pulled the valve cover and it's beautiful clean. Block checks out as an 82 while Wayne looked up the head as a 79-80? (Forgot already). So it is a mechanical engine. Can still see the numbers on the deck so that leads me to believe the block received no milling. So got it unloaded and unscrewed the oil filter, all squeaky clean. Then I had a thought, all the spark plugs are missing so I wanted to see the walls and pistons. Flashlight in hand I looked in, forgot about stamping a in the top of pistons and found that the engine has in fact been bored .040 over! So far so good. Some things figured and still more unknown like if the head was milled and if in fact a diff cam was put in.
Stop rambling, couple weeks and I'm going to take the weekend to just drop the new engine in and run it. Keeping my old one in case. Fingers crossed it works out and I won't need my old engine for another 200k miles. (Currently 194k) more to come.....

Edit: so fix me if I'm wrong but with bore of 3.44 and stroke of 4.125 is 230.03 CID? Accounting for the .040 over?
