Dang, I think you are really serious, my friend. Enjoy the building. I am about to get a different kind of boost maker delivered in early January...

Wayne,
Turn off Youtube, go out and put your race-car together. This is the race-car building season. Come spring, you're going to be expected to race the car. No more Youtube until it's done Mister.
Now get to work!

On this subject:

I should take delivery of the aluminum plate I ordered next week. Once we have everything worked out, I'll work on a bit of AutoCAD for the timing cover.
I ended up putting the pristine John Deere crank back into storage, and pulled a different crank that wasn't a perfect piece for the weight loss build. No sense screwing up something that could be used in a build not requiring the one off machining needed for this experiment.

Spent today helping a buddy rebuild a phone booth. Still got a long way to go. I can't remember the last time I saw a full size phone booth with doors and full glass. An interesting day!
The phone booth will be part of his private car shop when completed. I donated an old dented Keg to the progress. Three guesses what that's going to be for!
We'll be installing a car lift in one of the bays next weekend. We need to get a 4x4 lift project, and a 4.6L Ram pickup core out the door before we start in on that project.

CJ

A brief visit to drop off the 6061 plate, Dave's Slant Jig, and another timing cover...

CJ, I made a 3D model of a 2pc. timing cover about 5 years ago and did a few prototype casting patterns for them I posted on here. If you need any help with dimensions and bolt locations let me know.

Looks like an aluminum slant front section.
Sorry if I missed something.

Hey guys. Been really busy with work. Basically, progress on the digger is on hold.

This is an iron block slant. Not sure how you'd seal up the head on an aluminum slant under boost.

The timing cover set is custom cnc'd piece. Gary machined it from a thick piece of aluminum I purchased. It's a two piece with the pumps drive off the cam.

No sure when I'll get back to it. As busy as I've been, it may have to wait until I retire in four years.
