I've had my '65 Barracuda named 'Salma' for 11 years now. She started out as a white 273 V8 car with red interior, console shifted 904, sway bar and sure grip 7.25". I did the bodywork and had her painted red about 5 years ago. A previous owner had swapped in an '83 hydraulic lifter Slant 6 - the opposite of what most people do, haha. By now I've replaced pretty much everything you can and added KH disc brakes, PST 1.03" torsion bars, QA1 adjustable strut rods, ESPO stock height heavy duty leaf springs, PST 16:1 steering box etc. The slant already came with electronic ignition, the Super Six setup, but no kickdown and stock exhaust, so I got a Lokar cable and had a 2.25" diameter exhaust with Magnaflow muffler installed. It runs great and it's a fun driver! I'm currently installing A/C, but it's a pain...

This is what she looked like when I picked her up in 2009:

Could you pass along some info about the A/C install you are doing. I maybe installing A/C in my sons 65 Valiant soon and would appreciate any insight you may have. What kit you used, problems encountered...etc. Thanks for any help!

Nice car. I did the same with my 64, pulled the 273 and dropped in a 225.

The kit I bought interfered with the fan, so I've had some brackets laser cut to move the compressor to the side:

Next I have to relocate the belt tensioner. Working on it... On the interior I chose a Vintage Air slimline heat/ cool/ defrost evaporator that eliminates the stock heater box.

I like the new looks after the red paint. Any update on that rig now?
