I replaced all the brakes including the MC. After the brakes were bled I have a vacuum hiss down by the pedal. Is The boot around the rod causing this??? It stops fine but the leak is really annoying. This is a Power Brake '79 Volare.

Failed power brake booster. Don't buy a Cardone unit. Send your original to get rebuilt at http://boosterdeweyexchange.com

Before condeming the booster, make sure the bushrod between the booster and the mc has free play. Also make sure the pedal pushrod is not keeping pressure on the booster, when released. Both need a small amount of free play.

Thanks Charlie. Now that you mention that the pedal doesn't seem to have any free play. Been trying to get this car reliable. I use to working on the older Plymouth/Dodge. A lot easier. lol I'm steadily working out the issues on the '61 Dodge and the neighbor came out yesterday pissed because its loud.He needs to poiice all the dogs that bark ALL rhe time. It has a cherry bomb and a cracked EX. manifold. So I jumped onto the Volare to fix its issue. Doing the fuel line upgrade and pulled the VC off to replace the gasket. So much stuff in the way. I'm guessing the VC gasket is placed on the head then worming the cover in place. I had a line wrench for the FP line and it wouldn't break it loose. Thank GOD it has removable inspection plates. Vise grips broke it loose and then I cut the metal line to worm it out. I finally got the hood on but no latch yet.
