I'm getting ready to purchase a Borgeson PS box. I would like to also include a new PS Pump to replace a TRW pump in use currently. The TRW can be replaced by a new Federal unit, keeping the existing bracket, having custom hoses made to mate up with the Borgeson box, or a new GM Style Saginaw pump that there are no new off the shelf slant six brackets, but hoses are available for.

If the Dart had a V8, PS pump brackets are easily purchased, not so with a slant six.

What did the later slant six cars or trucks use for PS brackets when equipped with Saginaw pumps?

Something you don't like about the Thompson ("TRW") pump…? They work well and last a long time, and they can be rebuilt.

The question kind of answers itself: they used brackets designed to mount a Saginaw power steering pump to a Slant-6 engine.

I rebuilt it 5000 miles ago, and it still squeals occasionally under certain conditions. I suppose if it can be flushed out, I could use it if the working pressure is high enough. I think the 800126 Borgenson unit requires 1000 to 1200 psi.

I have not been able to locate hoses to connect between my Federal pump, and the 800126 Bergenson box. Bergenson shows a GM Saginaw being mated with their 800126 box, but no pump brackets are available for a slant six.

As I noted before, about 2 years ago, I installed the Borgenson box and a new PS. pump on Ryan's 65 Valiant. It came as a kit with the PS. Box, pump, hoses and fittings. I think it reused the factory PS. bracket, but I'm not 100% sure. I did have to change one fitting in the PS pump to get the hose to seal up.

Might put in a call to Steer & Gear about that.

Probably a make-to-order item at a competent hydraulic-lines-and-hoses shop.

I sent that box out to Steer and Gear in 2009. It now has around 30K miles of use. I'm done with Steer and Gear. Their rebuild has proven to be unsatisfactory. Too much slop on center, too tight at lock.

Oh, that sucks. First bad report I've heard about their work.
