I got my pistons on Sunday. Good Stuff.

It will be a while before I amass a proper set of parts to use with these in an engine, but they will be waiting.

It took me over 10 years to get my lightweight aluminum flywheel in a project!

Got mine as well. I wanted to publicly thank Lou for all of the work he put into this, they look great.

Weights are the same as stated previously, pistons measured 479-482 grams and pins are 129 grams across the board. About 610 per set.

Thanks for the well wishes, folks.

I weighed the piston, pin, and locks to be 608.9 g total. This is not much less than a stock piston and pin, but hopefully these are much stronger.

The compression height is taller so that also adds to the weight, but of course this lets us get high compression with stock 225 rods without much milling or other changes, and lets you run a huge cam with the valve reliefs.

Best,
Lou

I want to start looking at the ring deal.
Did we get a document on the Pistons?
Lou, I need to get my pistons from you someway.
Does anyone have a picture of the markings on the box?
I have a contact at Total Seal but I don't want to sound like an idiot when I talk with him.
Zilla, you don't need to comment, but I am sure you will.

I have saved some info from this thread, but a document would be better.

Thank!

Stan,
I can mail you your set if you confirm your mailing address. The docs I got from Icon say they are proprietary so I cannot share them. I'll ask if there is something I can share now that all pistons are delivered to us.

These use rings from 2.2L Mopar pistons. Thanks for being willing to look into rings. I posted the Hastings part number and here it is again: "Hastings Premium Ductile Ring Sets 2M4222040" There are Mahle rings available too.
Best,
Lou

Total seal needs the ring depth, do we have that?

I just spoke with Les at UEM
Top ring groove depth is .146
Second ring groove is .173
Oil ring groove is .168

Wes said they designed the grooves specifically for the Mopar 2.2L rings. I just sent you the measurements from the UEM drawing. Those numbers you posted make no sense to me, but maybe what I just emailed you will help...

Yes I got your pic, thanks.
Total Seal needs the depth of the ring lands.
Their rings evidently need more room into the radial axis of the ring grooves.
Or they want to make sure they don't bottom out.
