I knew about the Cleveland Frankenstein head from years ago.
Just never knew that Alan Johnson of all folks would build an aluminum ford 6 head.
CL Batten made the heads that I remember.

Yes, you correct, Batten made a lot of them and I believe Indy Cylinder Head did as well back in that time.
Not sure how AJ made the deal with Ford, but he has been doing them since day one. Since its strictly a high end race head, I'd say the total he has done has been pretty low.

I guess with all his manufacturing equipment it's easier for him to do these.

I looked on FB and I don't see any more posts from Robert Maw on his head.

I don't have Facebook but the wife does. How do I get to his post about the head? Just type in his name?

Search for the Slant Six Club, Robert Maw posts his progress on this forum, not much on his personal FB page.

Just read this entire thread again! It started with Howard's head almost 9 years ago! It has still never been to a race or set any records.I feel a little sad that it kind of faded into the woodwork. Hopefully we will see it someday at an event before I'm gone! :D :D

Mr Maw's work looks exciting but with no water I don't see how it works for very long. Glad to see some chips flying.

Guess I 'll just go to the garage and try and loose 30# off the car somewhere!! :D

What I don't understand is when he's done he's putting it on an aluminum block. That seems counterproductive.

Howard's has made many passes. It runs pretty good.

I think it's a proof of concept. I believe he may do another head that has greer potential.

Just curious about this. Has anyone besides Howard actually completed one yet? It's funny all these projects come on like gangbusters and then just fall off into the abyss. What about Robert Maw's project? I was following it closely on Facebook and he just stopped posting about it.

Maw's project seems to be something he does in between projects where he works. He posted a few months ago that his situation had changed. He did post a pretty neat deck filler plate for an aluminum block.

I have spoken at length with Howard about his billet head. I don't expect to ever see another one.

Has he been racing at all with it?
