Rebuilding my 74 225 which is already .040 over. Replacing with stock intake (1brl carb) and stock exhaust manifold. Any suggestions for a cam?

It depends upon the vehicle it is going in... And what it will be used for. Truck or car, City, highway use or both.

My understanding is that the original cam does quite well with a little more compression, and light bowl blending behind the valves... That is to say that the stock valve job-seat-throat and lack of compression is more of a limitation than the stock camshaft.

If keeping the compression stock then the 1972-1980 cam is OK... if doing some improvements like a bit more compression,
then the OCG 818 gets you stock duration and a little more lift, the #2106 grind is also a good choice.

Ok guys thanks for all of the information but now moving onto another cam question. I have decided to install a 2 barrel manifold and carb thanks to Rob Simmons. This is all going into a 1968 Dodge D100 pick up. It will be mainly used for driving to shows and events but would like just a little power. Any suggestions now?

No change to the cam if just going to a 2bbl carb and intake. Make sure to "degree" the cam and I would set it to 104-106 installed centerline.

Thanks guys. I will move on with both DI and D270 suggestions.
