The rear tubes were modified on mine but not at the bottom by the frame. Mods were up at the top around the intake.

Hello, I'm trying to determine if Clifford long tube headers for an early a body will fit my roadster project. They look like they should work but it ain't easy guessing from photos of just the headers. Does anyone have any photos of these headers installed on an engine out of the car? What about photos of it in the car? Or even just some measurements of them installed would help me such as: distance away from the edge of the block where it meets the oil pan for the front and rear set how far down they extend past where the oil pan meets the block Also what starter is needed to run these? Thanks! This site has been very helpful and i''ve spent a lot of time reading through past posts but couldn't really find this info anywhere. Gene |

I have a picture on my build somewhere. The front half goes through the K frame so it is from the frame a good ways. 4" maybe..? |

Unless you have a specific need for the Early Long tubes I would say to use the shorties / street rod headers. Best of luck! Greg |

I noticed your upper thermostat housing is straight and looks substantial. Do you remember the application? I have the Dakota style and it's thin steel. Seems to be ok, I like yours better. Stan |

Thanks yall! Yea it looks like they may stick out too far but the shorties may be too tight for me needs. I will try to take a photo of the area i'm working with tomorrow. The reason I asked about the early a body headers is someone near me has a set for sale for $700 and they have been Jet Hot Ceramic coated. Is that a fair price? |

I will have to look stan. Stan- Summit Racing Part Number: FSS-84909 - You have to drill the holes out a 1/8" but it works fine other than that. |

Here is what I am working with for space so far. The steering box is going to be moved more under thet starter so thats not an issue. Headers would be neat but for now I will just hog out the stock manifold opening and work with that. But i'd still like to keep an eye out for some headers if I come across a pair nearby.
