Thanks! I just found and ordered that book...good recommendation and thanks for the article - I forget to check the articles page.
I am gathering parts and have the long block on the engine stand, ready to get started.

Is the engine out and on a stand? if so It goes together easiest with the timing cover assembled first.

- Start with a helping of RTV - I like Permatex Grey (but any flavor will probably do)- placed on all of the cork/paper side wall junctions to the rubber ends - especially in the corners.

- Set the pan on / Start all bolts loose but do not tighten or torque to spec yet.
Let the RTV "flash off" for 4-24 Hours

- Final Torque the pan Down
- It's possible you may still have a leaker in the Lower RF Front Corner.. By the Timing Cover.
- You can RTV over the outside of the Pan to Timing cover Junction here if you want.

I am sure others have some sage advice and techniques that they prefer and may chime in here.

Thanks Greg - yes it is on the engine stand. I have the timing cover ready to go and I am waiting for an oil pickup tube.
It had very minor leaks before the rebuild and I am hoping to keep it that way! Thanks for the tips! gpk1961
