What is the advantage of one over the other?

I have used 51515's for a while now on many of my MoPar stuff. Is 51806 better somehow?

Thank you sages!

51806 contains a built-in standpipe; 51515 does not. Other than that they are substantially alike.

Cool thanks Uncle Dan.

Is the built in standpipe of 51806 somehow better flowing than the stock steel stand pipe and small check valve on the filter base / oil pump?

I will add that according to the Wix catalog, the oil bypass is set at 22psi in the 806, vs ~9psi for the 515.

No data; I'd just be guessing.

Thank you.

I suppose the 51086 is worth a try for me as I just got rid of a standpipe for my latest build and I have a bunch of 51515's to compare it with.

With the 51806 bringing its own standpipe, you could optimise the filter adapter—bore it out and round its inlet and outlet edges to minimise flow restriction.

I will likely try that thanks again!

I noticed I have a 51515X, says it's for full synthetic oil.

Any automotive engine oil filter will work with any automotive engine oil.
Better filters have the ability to strain out smaller particles and at the same time have better flow rates and more robust construction. But stating that a specific type of oil filter is required for synthetic engine oil is a stretch.

I would guess that is some kind of marketing gimmick? I have been using both of these filters for years with non synthetic oils.
