There were only four slant 6's at Woodburn this year. One bone stock Dart that ran 18.00's, a 1952 Ford with a slant 6 four barrel (he ran 17.00's), my buddy Doug Powers with his 64 Valiant (two one barrels, street cam and headers). He was running 14.03. I ran my best of a 12.13.

The weather was great (90º), the beer was cold and the best part was when two other racers walked over to look at my car and said "My big block isn't even in the 12's". We all had a great time.

Thanks for the Up-date Dave, We Have TO Work On Getting SL6 racing going on the West Coast!

I have my sights set on the Samoa Inliners race 8-17 & 18 and Sacramento on 8-25. I got the new engine fired in my Dragcar but it needs a "shake-out" to see if it "holds together"

Woodburn would be good to promote for next year, may-be we can get a few of the "East Siders" to make the "pull" to come play with us!

The Ford is a 53 fourdoor daily driver. The best time at Woodburn was 16.172 @ 84.02 mph.
Weight is 3320, with a shift kit in the 904,
and a 1800 rpm converter.
Just to set the record streight. this run was at the Battle of Detroit May of 2000. Here is more info on the car:
Doug;
I have no objections to posting the pictures.
I had the new guides and bigger valves put in the head even though they were not needed for wear. It would allow for less restrictive flow. The total cost was around $300 for me to have it done about a year ago.

As further info on my Ford:
225 Bored .030
Head work as pictured with .060 milled off
Comp. cam grind #CR6 264S-10

Duration @ 0.050 220 for both Intake & Exhaust

Gross valve lift .440 for both Intake & Exhaust

Lobe seperation 108 deg
Oil pressure 55 psi
Offenhauser 4 barrel intake with Carter 600 cfm

Jetted .098 (120-398) in secondaries

Jetted .110 (120-410) with the .073 x .060 (16-388) Rod in the primaries.
Torque converter 1800 rpm
904 with a transgo shift kit
8 inch Ford rear end with 4.11 and lockrite ratchet. The car weighs 3320#
I run 225/70 14's and shift at 5400.

This is my daily driver, and I'll be 62 tomorrow !!
