Will has been there. I never have.

I do not believe there was a slant 6 race there.

Its ~ 45' elevation.

Great track, lots of shows and activity.
It's near the eastern shore so it's a little tow from tidewater, but DC MD it's a good location.

I remember a Pro Stock open race on a Wed night, people still coming in at 12 midnight.
Dyno Don, Glidden, Grumpy's driver, etc.

I raced there a few times back in the 80's in my 65 Fury w/440. I usually would trek up there from Virginia Beach with a caravan of friends. We always had a good time racing there, back in the day.

Would love to try it! Been meaning to do that for years, but somehow have not done it.

Hopefully this will help turn things around with the programing at that track. They used to have a nostalgia event that started off great but was pushed to a Sunday and then disappeared. Now there is a lot more diesel truck and import events, perhaps just a sad sign of the times. While it is a 1/4 mile track most of the classes are forced to run 1/8 mile I guess due to safety concerns but this was even the case for the slower classes which didn't make sense.

I'm hoping to take my slant powered roadster there for the next Mopar Show which is usually in late October. Fingers crossed they will let me take it down the track!

sheesh..

I would love to see the '29 dodge Make some passes..
Maybe With Lou's '32 Plymouth ( I think) Turbo Coupe ?

I need to make it a point to make it near the coast @ MIR for some racing.

THe import and Diesel market I can understand. Most of the young people that have ca$h will be $pending it on that kind of content.

Try and plan on coming to the Slant 6 race at Mason Dixon in the Spring! We need more racers and we'd love to meet you and your car in person!

Good Call Rick.

I would love to see the 80 + year old slant 6 powered cars run at Mason Dixon as well!

I think that it would be nice to have one Race at Mason Dixon, then maybe one At MIR if the track is organized well enough.

Some of the bigger tracks don't want to mess with us being such a small group. Not saying don't try, but if someone wants it to happen, then go ahead and do some checking now and see what they say.

Hopefully i will have it ready by then! It's been a slow process with life getting in the way. Making some changes to the rear suspension this weekend. Then I have a list of other things to get done on the car including a roll bar, friction shocks for the front, headlights, re wiring, finish the interior, install the 2bbl intake, make some neat headers and exhaust similar to old speedsters and a bunch of other things i'm probably forgetting haha. I just got done fitting a mustang radiator I had a friend modify into the 1916 Dodge Brothers grill. The white is just paneling to protect the radiator while working. Might make a canvas snap on hood with some support rods sewn in later.

I'm sure the best chance at getting a slant race at MIR would be to do it during the Mopar Event in October. It's be cool to get to meet some other slant heads as well! I'm planning to run this car at some vintage events in PA too.
