A few months ago my 833OD started to grind a bit when going into reverse, even with the clutch all the way to the floor. A little after that, I noticed that shifts into first from a dead stop were getting harder and harder--sometimes nearly impossible without going to second and throwing it down. Basically it seemed like the clutch wasn't releasing all the way, so I adjusted as much free play out of the linkage as I could to get more travel.

This seemed to fix the problem (smooth shifts, no grinding into R) but the problem has come back. Even with the hugely long pedal travel on the volare, I can still tell the clutch is slightly engaged, and now there is no slack left to take out of the linkage. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

As a possibly related problem, there was a slow leak through the middle of the reverse switch that resulted in the tranny running nearly empty for quite a while before I noticed it.
