Has anyone found a solution to stopping torque converter drain back?

I had my transmission rebuilt 1600 miles ago along with the engine, shortly after the rebuild the first few hundred miles I noticed puddling of trans fluid under end of tail shaft, went back to re-builder he gave me a replacement seal, and I changed it out. It has continued to leak after car is parked over night. I'm now tired of the mess on the floor.

Other than the persistent leak, the trans work flawlessly.

Torque converter or no, it shouldn't leak there.
For example, you should be able to park facing uphill without worrying about leaks.

How is the bushing in the tailshaft?
Check for lateral slop.
If it is badly worn, it won't keep the yoke aligned to let the seal work and live.

Also, check the outer sealing surface of the yoke itself for grooves or roughness.

Finally, check to see if there is an unplugged small hole in the yoke, facing the u-joint.
I had one leaking there that drove me crazy for a while.
A little dab of RTV cured it.

You may not like the answer that really fixes the problem.

1. Pull transmission.
2. Gut trans case.
3. Bolt empty case to engine.
4. Attach dial indicator to crankshaft and check runout in pump housing bore.
5. Correct transmission cast to crank alignment with offset down pins.
6. Reassemble trans with new pump bushing and seal. Probably needs a tail shaft bushing too.
7. Make sure torque converter hub is not cracked or damaged to preserve the pump bushing and seal.
8. Reassemble.

If you just want to keep the fluid off the floor pull the driveshaft and make sure the yoke it air tight. The leak very well may be coming through the yoke itself.

Josh your right, that's a lot of work, gutting is beyond my pay grade, that's why I sent it out.

I'm almost positive the tail shaft bushing was changed during overhaul. Before trans went in shop for overhaul the yoke had a lot of movement, and now it is much more snug. I don't recall condition of yoke surface condition where seal rides. Also the seal removed and the second one provided by shop seamed on the stiff side as if they had been on a shelf for a long time.

I will check air tightness of yoke.
