Has anyone successfully used a standard-depth aftermarket 727 pan that has a drain plug?
I tried one once on a 1974 D-100 and the drain plug assembly touched the filter, so I sent it back.

Poor-quality parts = poor-quality results. Use this pan and this gasket, real nice factory parts, and you'll be all smiles.

Do you know of a good standard capacity pan?

That is the standard-capacity factory pan for later models. You could just go ahead and use it, all you'd have to do is add a bit more ATF to bring the level up to Full on the dipstick. No other parts or adapters are needed.

Or you could scrounge around and try to find a 1962 or 1963 727 trans pan; those had drain plugs…but good luck with the search!
