Hi,
The 7.25 rear end in my ‘63 Dart needs new ring and pinion.
I would be happy with another 2.93, or a 3.21.
But they are not available anywhere.
Motive gear, Yukon, even the one’s on eBay when you actually call them “oh, yea, we don’t actually have that.”
Anyone? Anywhere?
Or do I have to put in the 3.55?
(And no, I’m not really in the mood to swap axles)
Thanks,
Ben

I have a few good used 7 1/4 axle assemblies that can be shipped reasonably, via FedEx Ground... 2.93 or 3.23.

Check your tire size and "do the math" on what ratio best suits your driving situation.
("around town" LA = 3.23 vs more freeway @ 60+... go w/ the 2.93)
We need to figure-out which axle bearing size you currently have seeing that 63 was a "change over" year. (from the small to the medium size axle bearing)
PM me for costs and shipping details...

Depending what tire size you're running, what engine and transmission you have, and how you drive, there might be a solid case to be made for 2.76, too.

Remember if you change your ratio you'll also need to change your speedometer drive pinion.

3.55 & 4.10 at Drivetrain.
West Coast will have 3.55s in on the 26th.

You're right, not finding anything in 2.**.

Thanks DD,
But I don’t really want to take a chance on a used 7.25.
Unless you have a —perfect— set of gears that I could put in my diff.
I don’t want to do this twice as this is my daily driver.

I have Rallye 14 inch tires, so getting a 3.16 (Yea, I know there is no such thing) would keep it as stock in the freeway RPM department, so I would choose a 3.21.

You are welcome to text me.

When I pulled out the half shafts there was no seal and no gasket.
I assume there is supposed to be a seal and gasket!?!?!?
The shaft looks like there was once a seal running on it.
But there was no leaks!

The bearing has an outside diameter of 2.675 inches.
Does anyone know if this is the small, medium or large bearings.
I have no idea if this is the original or a replacement axle.

Does anyone know the correct seal.
I am definitely running the small lug nut pattern and 9 inch drums.

Thanks
