While using a chisel to deform and remove the front seal I knicked the input shaft. It’s not in the splines so I think I’m ok but wanted to verify. If I sand them flat can I run it or should I replace it?

How much HP are you making? I would probably just dress them and run it.

It didn’t get hit all that hard either… it’s a really soft cast shaft.

Not sure on the power. Healthy but not hugely exotic. 9:1 with a rdp15 cam, bigger valves, mpefi and dual duals.

I was worried something inside the converter would be riding on that surface but then I realized that’s not possible since the splines have a bigger OD. Yep, will get them back down to the original OD surface and go.

Sigh. The saga continues. As I was sanding the bruises down I noticed the bushing got bruised up badly too. Not from chiseling but probably from the attempts with the screwdriver. At this point I have a spare trans I’m going to swap in since there’s not much more involved to pull it and let the project continue then worry about it’s repair.
