I have a micosquirt and I am wondering if anybody has gotten a knock sensor to work? And if so, what setup did you use?

Didn't get a lot of traffic when I asked this question.

I will be finding out soon as I intend to install a knock sensor with the MS3 Pro on the 68 Barracuda.
Have you tried the Msextra forum?
I have had good results there.

On a side note, I have a knock sensor on the 83 D150.
A common gm knock sensor screwed into the block water jacket drain hole and using the
Casper Electronics gauge and install instructions.
The set up on the D150 is functional. I can purposely increase ignition timing and get the knock
sensor to light when pushing the motor hard on an incline. I can take ignition timing out and get
the knock gauge to not light under the same conditions.

Ahh, but does the knock sensor retard the ignition? This is not clear from the microsquirt documentation.

My guess is, since the MegaSquirt ecu’s are aimed at the
performance arena, you get a warning.

I will ask that question at MSextra and post the reply back here.

What firmware package?

There's 2 (I think Bowling and Gripps, the original which I'm nut sure about)

And TunerStudio . I downloaded tunerstudio to see what it can do, and it looks like it will retard for a knock sensor on a microsquirt

looked in Turner Studio and confirmed that with MS3 Pro the knock sensor is configurable.
To install,
there is a drop down box for knock sensor type and a single wire hook up,
once installled and swithed on there are two modes, safe and aggressive.
With each, one can:
Ignore settings above a rpm, or when launch control is on,
ignore settings below a rpm
set the number of counts to occurr to trigger
set the ignition advance degrees to remove.

I asked a question at MSextra ' can the MS3 Pro knock sensor settings be configured to turn on a light when the knock sensor system is actively pulling timing'. It would be good to know when timing was being reduced, to help dial in the settings.

got this response
"I'd set one of the programmable on/off outputs to trigger when KnockRetard > 0; this will turn the light on whenever the knock input is actively pulling timing."

Apparently you use something called Knocksense MS on the microsquirt. More information here: http://www.viatrack.ca/

The turbobrick guys love it, mixed reviews from others.
